This screening is performed with color flow imaging, which takes moving pictures of the heart. This non-invasive and painless method detects congenital abnormalities, access for pericardial effusion, and intra-cardiac tumors. It also measures ventricular and atrial size/function, aortic root size and evaluates all cardiac valves for stenosis and regurgitation.
